Vow 2008
Although a little last minute, we had the pleasure to assist our friends at the Portsmouth Renaissance Hotel with their
booth display at the 2008 Vow Bridal Show this past Sunday at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The show was an
exception presentation of fashion and fun. Many of our preferred vendors and industry friends were also present during
show - from Ice Art to Unique Car Service - it was a pleasure to see them (and be seen) during this year's show. Please
see a sample of our unique "Before
& After" Design Pictures of the assistance we provided for our friends at the
Renaissance below.

Cari's Bridal Display at Grande Affairs
I had the opportunity to use our Creative Design and Decor Services to
enhance a great vendor. I received a call late Friday afternoon from an associate of mine. Her friend, Cari
of Cari's Bridal Boutique in Virginia Beach, had experienced some emergency situations recently and was
in need of our help. They needed someone to create designs and provide decor for their "Spotlight Sponsor
Booth" at this past Sunday's Grande Affairs Bridal Show. As always, I am committed to helping and providing
our services whenever possible. That evening I visited the site at Grande Affairs, took initial pictures, and took
area measurements. That evening I created an Original Concept Sketch depicting the display design. That next
day I emailed the sketch to Cari for review (of course she was thrilled with the design). That afternoon I created
displays and we were ready for set-up the next morning at 9:30am. We transformed an empty space near the middle
of the room (next to the fashion show stage) into a delightful Victorian Garden theme boutique. Tasteful accents
in delicate shades of blue, green, pale gold, and white complemented the design depicted on the Concept Board Illustration
subtly displayed near the exhibits main table. Guests and other Vendors were amazed at our work. The detail
and implementation of professional Fine Art and Design Principles were evident. What was not evident
was the fact we only had 36 hours notice. People were shocked to learn what we had done and many said, "If she
(Janel Keen) could do this with just 36 hour, imagine what she could do with a couple of weeks!" I'm pleased I could
be of service and share our talents. (Pictures below)
Cheers and blessed wishes,

Mason and Shelley's Bar/Bat Mitzvah!
This Saturday I had the tremendous pleasure of performing
Caricature Services during Norfolk teens Mason and Shelley's Bar and Bat Mitzvah party. The Brother and Sister duo had
a fantastic winter theme celebration featuring a color scheme of pale blues and white. The room was accented by a dazzling
ice sculpture from our friends at Ice Art in Virginia Beach. As always, Andrea and Steve at Ice
Art brought a special touch with a shimmering Polar bear ice sculpture lit from below with a delicate, ambient blue
light. Of course, Vivid Expressions LLC was brought in to provide our own unique type entertainment - we performed
caricatures from the start of the event to its finish. The Caricatures were a phenomenal hit with all the guests.
The "tweens" and teens (and even many of the adults) loved getting a souvenir of a picture drawn in less than 5 minutes to
remember the special evening. Congratulations again Mason and Shelley!

Featured Guest Speaker
I've [Janel Keen] been invited to be the featured guest speaker for one workshop in an
up-coming series produced by Happily Ever After (a Positive Vibes Entertainment project). Positive Vibes Entertainment is
one of the areas most exceptional DJ services. Their Senior DJ and General Manager Seko Varner has an uncanny
talent for capturing a Bride and Groom's unique style and personality to create a musical and entertainment experience
to delight the couple and their guests. This Guest Speaker engagement is separate from our own up-coming The Art of Event Design Workshop. I'm honored to be a part of this event and invite Brides to come out and learn some simple tips
on "How to have a stress-free wedding day".
Cheers and blessed wishes,
Janel
