Delightful Cheese Fondue
2 Cups
Shredded Swiss Cheese
1 Cup Shredded
Cheddar Cheese
Pinch of
Nutmeg
1 Clove
of garlic
Black pepper
(to taste)
2 tablespoons
lemon juice
2/3 c
white wine (or chicken broth)
1
1/2 tablespoon Cornstarch
Pinch
of chili powder (optional)
Assorted
"Dippers" (ex: Bread cubes, Broccoli, Granny Smith Apple cubes, etc)
Assemble
your fondue pot set. *Be sure to read all instructions and follow all safety
instructions for using your fondue pot.
In a mixing bowl combine cheese and cornstarch. In a medium sauce pan bring wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice to a simmer.
Slowly add cheese mixture (a little at a time) into the simmering liquid stirring as you add the cheese. Stir gently until all of the cheese is combined and fondue comes together.
Add in pepper and nutmeg. If you would like
to add chili powder you may add that at this time. Meanwhile, take the clove of garlic, gentle crush and rub all over the sides
of the cold fondue pot then set aside. Carefully pour cheese
fondue into fondue pot and ignite fondue pot to keep warm. Serve with dippers
on skewers. Be sure to keep plates and napkins available for your guests.
