Using color:  When many people think of choosing colors for an event they think of simply picking 2 or 3 of their favorite colors but there are other color options.  Colors may be used as an accent or focal point of a design.  You can certainly choose one of this year's hot colors and pair it with a complementary or neutral color.  You can also choose a feature color to be used throughout the event and use various tones or tints in a monochromatic scheme.  Ask your Professional Fine Artist & Event Designer for more information on hue dimensions, color perception, and more regarding the formal science of Color Theory.

Table Talk
3 reception table trends:

The Come Back - Head Tables
Head tables fell out of fashion in favor of Sweetheart tables after the 80's but they seam to be making a come.

Rectangles vs. Circles
More and more receptions are using square or rectangular banquet style seating instead of standard rounds (round tables) because of the unique layout and flowing table design options they offer.

Funkier than flowers
Although flowers will always have a place at reception tables, more and more centerpieces are corporating unconventional elements such as rocks, candles, feathers, etc.  The flowers you may find might be submurged in tall, dramatic vases of water.  Regardless, don't be afraid to look at centerpieces as more than bouquets for your table.

Dazzlingly Different Details

Diamonds, pearls, and crystals are classic choices for wedding jewelry but more and more Brides are daring to be different by adding color and unusual stones or accents to their wedding day accessories.  Just as Brides are choosing to add pops of color and unique texture to their wedding gowns colored gems, stones and even shells are making an appearance in tiaras and necklaces.  Tigerlilly Jewelry (shown above) is just one of the leaders in the uncommonly texture and color craze.  For more jewelry options you many also like to check out the fun and funky accessories in our Online Boutique.

Monograms

If you are having trouble finding a theme for your up-coming special event consider monograms.  This trend has become increasingly popular over recent years and continues to be seen at weddings, sweet sixteen parties, etc.  Brides can unitize their soon-to-be new monogram throughout their wedding design as a simple, stylish, and elegant approach to creating a personalized theme.

Donation Event Favors

Looking for something special to give as wedding favors?  Why not give the gift of hope during your special day.  Many couples and party givers are  choosing to offer Donation Favors to guests instead of the traditional favor.

Donation Favors are a unique, personal, and thoughtful way to commemorate your special event.  Many renowned non-profit charitable organizations offer simple yet elegant favors (such as personalized scrolls) to wedding couples and special event organizers to present to their guests in exchange for donations to their causes.
